RATIONALE
“You have changed my sadness into a joyful
dance; you have taken away my sorrow and surrounded me with joy. So I will not
be silent; I will sing praise to you. Lord you are my God; I will give you
thanks forever.” Psalm 30:11-12
CFC Youth
For Christ (CFC-YFC) is a young community of believers, filled with the
vibrancy and the conviction of the spirit, eager to do and continue Christ’s
mission—to proclaim His love to the world. One of the basic things that we want
to instil in the hearts of the young is appreciating the gifts and talents that
God has given them to equip them in this mission of evangelization. One of
which is music.
In YFC, music
has always been one of the most effective tools in bringing the young back to
Christ. Through our culture of praise and worship, we are able to introduce
Christ in a very creative and exciting way. And indeed through music we are
able to inspire them and bring out the passion in them to serve Christ through
YFC.
But there
was one problem--We lack original community songs. So we opted to borrow songs
from other Christian groups to sustain our culture of praise and worship. It
was good for the first few years of YFC. But as we grow older in this mission,
we come to realize that it is high time for YFC to share our God given talents
in music. We shouldn’t be dependent on the new songs of other communities;
rather we should start creating our own music for the Lord.
And so we
started a campaign to live our lives loudly for the Lord by encouraging young
musicians in our community to write songs and share it to the whole of YFC.
Because of this, many were inspired and started composing songs for the
community. And at present more and more young composers are sharing their
talents in music to contribute to the bigger mission of Christ. This campaign
is now called YFC LIVELOUD.
OVERVIEW
YFC
LIVELOUD is a campaign to encourage and inspire the community members,
especially the youth, to share their God given talents in music. It encourages
the young musicians to compose praise and worship songs for our ministry.
Through this, YFC LIVELOUD is also able to enhance their talents in song
writing and playing of musical instruments.
YFC
LIVELOUD is also a spring board program with one goal of sharing new original
songs to the whole of YFC, striving and hoping to achieve unity in the songs we
sing as a community. It is through our annual YFC LIVELOUD PRAISECONCERT where
we can massively share, teach and launch our new YFC original songs.
But above
all, YFC LIVELOUD means living out our faith not just in voice but also in
action. It means making every day, every action, and every word as a living
proclamation of our deep and great love for God.
For the
past 3 years, we’ve been conducting YFC LIVELOUD PRAISECONCERTS in Metro Manila
and in the last 3 praise concerts the Lord had blessed us with numbers. But
this is just the beginning of a bigger vision. Our dream is that every
strategic region/province/area will be able to conduct YFC LIVELOUD PRAISECONCERTS
to help saturate our new songs down to the grassroots level. Though we are now
encouraging areas to conduct this, there also guidelines that we need to follow
to keep the premium of the activity.
SUBMISSION
OF SONGS
- Contributors/Composers
are asked to submit their songs to yfcliveloud@yahoo.com
with Chords and Lyrics, mp3 file and a short description of their song/s.
There are no timeline or dates for submission. They can submit any time of
the year.
- All
submitted songs are being screened by the Liveloud Campaign Team and are
subject for editing. Though we acknowledge the right of ownership to the
composer, we have also set guidelines that they need to comply. All
proposed changes (Lyrics and arrangement), if there are any, are presented
to the composer for approval.
- Every
year the team chooses songs to be released on the Annual Praise Concert
and other major activities depending on the theme of the activity and
meaning of the song. Other songs submitted for the year, if not
chosen/released, will be archived in the pool of songs handled by the
Liveloud Campaign Team and YCOM for future references.
- All songs that will be used by the ministry will then be presented to the CFC Music Ministry Core.
